    After contacting MASO to join the group, you will either be instructed to completed:

    NISOA Process:

    • Fill-out NISOA/Chapter applications + pay membership fees

    • Mail NISOA/Chapter application

    • Take NISOA exam

    • Join + pay initial fee to join MASO

    • Buy NCAA Uniforms

    • Buy Warm Ups - MASO Merchandise Store

    • Get assigned games!

    AND/OR

    US Soccer Process:

    • Become USSF certified through your state 

    • Join + pay initial fee to join MASO

    • Get assigned games!

  • Yes, effective 2026 - there will be an annual fee of $50.00 paid by each official. This annual fee will be paid via RefQuest Registration Portal.

    NOTE: This registration membership fee is for Officials who are NISOA certified/officiate NCAA matches in MASO. If you’re only certified for US Soccer matches in MASO, you will not have to pay the membership fee.

    • The 2026 registration window will be open from Monday, January 5, 2026, and will close Thursday, April 30, 2026. 

    • Starting May 1, 2026 – Officials who do not pay the membership fee will be temporarily frozen from MASO RQ. Once paid, you will be reinstated into MASO RQ.

    • Any official who does not pay the yearly membership fee by August 1, 2026 will be removed from MASO.

    • For officials who pay their membership fee and do not receive MASO NCAA matches during the Fall season - you will receive a reimbursement of their membership fee at the end of December 2026.

  • MASO assigns officials through the following platforms:

    • NISOA/NCAA Assignments : RefQuest (RQ+)

    • US Soccer Assignments: RefQuest (RQ+), StackOfficials, ASSIGNR and Squadi

  • NISOA: The overarching organization that certifies you as a NCAA college soccer official.

    Chapters: You join a chapter within NISOA (EP&DISOA, RWISOA, VISOA, etc.). In order to be a member of NISOA, you must be a member of a NISOA-affiliated chapter. 

    MASO: Stands for Mid-Atlantic Soccer Officials (MASO) and is an independent assigning organization. MASO is the pool of officials that get assigned to matches.

  • Game assignments are based on experience, performance and coaches/AD/advisor/peer feedback.

    • NISOA/NCAA: must be NISOA certified and wear NISOA badge to all NCAA MASO matches. If you do not have a NISOA badge, you may wear a MASO Badge (if you have one)
