next steps: becoming NISOA CERTIFIED for maso
The below steps explain how to join MASO to officiate NISOA/NCAA matches. If you're already NISOA certified, you do not have to follow steps #2-4, complete step #5 only.
The below steps will get you successfully certified with NISOA through the EP&D Chapter. Once all steps have been successfully completed, you will be qualified to be added to the MASO pool of officials on RefQuest (RQ+). All MASO Officials must be NISOA certified.
NISOA: The overarching organization that certifies you as a NCAA college soccer official.
Chapters: You join a chapter within NISOA (EP&DISOA, RWISOA, VISOA, etc.). In order to be a member of NISOA, you must be a member of a NISOA-affiliated chapter.
MASO: Stands for Mid-Atlantic Soccer Officials (MASO) and is an independent assigning organization. MASO is the pool of officials that get assigned to matches.
Click on the below steps (drop-down arrows below) and complete each step in its entirety prior to going to the next step.

There are several brands that are selling the NCAA referee uniforms but MASO suggests purchasing through one of the following suppliers:
MASO requires all officials to purchase the 3 short sleeved + 3 long sleeved jerseys (6 jerseys total), black pants and black socks. You must also wear primarily black shoes.
Your order should include:
3 Short Sleeved Jerseys in the following colors: Yellow, Orange and Purple
3 Longed Sleeved Jerseys in the following colors: Yellow, Orange and Purple
1 pair of black shorts (no logos)
1 pair of black socks (no logos)
OPTIONAL but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Prior to arrival to your match, you are expected to wear warm-ups (windbreaker/zip-up jacket or polo shirt with warm-up pants).
If you are in need of warmups or polo, you may purchase warm up gear from the following suppliers:
If you are working college matches for MASO, you will dress accordingly.
IMPORTANT: You will NOT wear the short-sleeve uniform with a long sleeve shirt/under armor exposed. Remember, college coaches are taking note of appearances and are providing feedback to MASO throughout the season. When you take the field, you are representing MASO. If we find out officials are improperly wearing the uniform, we will remove you from games.
